The Royal Opera House

A project designed by Renzo Piano, with its project management handled by AP - Architectural Projects. DuPont™Corian® fabricated by Shaker was used to create state of the art restrooms in one of Malta’s renovated historical buildings - The Royal Opera House.  The Royal Opera house was erected in 1866, this was one of the most beautiful and iconic buildings in Valletta. In 1873 its interior was extensively damaged by a fire but was restored by 1877. The theatre was then a direct target from aerial bombing during the World War II in 1942. For these reasons it’s interior structure brought about various technical challenges during the installation of the project. Shaker’s years of experience in fabricating DuPont™Corian® played an important role and allowed this project to be finalised with the specifications required.
